the thing about faith is... i'm learning it truly does come with perseverance. and thinking upon the "title" of the passage in the ESV version of "Peace with God through Faith," i have been experiencing it in a way that when it seems God is silent or distant, to believe that he is near, that he is for us and not against us, and that he will answer in his time... all we are to do is trust. not to fear that he doesn't like us (because i totally think that lie, honestly-- and i caught myself today). but to know that he is love. and to put our hope in Christ, because through him we receive peace. the devos i have been reading lately speak upon the concept of wrestling, of learning and how there is a struggle that exists in it. it's not always easy to receive and gain, but sometimes requires patience and facing the difficulties. yet what comes forth and is produced is fruit that is worth it.
p.s. the NIV version of the following verses are good, too (of course).
Romans 5
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
